Jobbik Calls For More Transparency In Politicians’ Wealtht
- 2 Dec 2014 3:00 AM
The radical nationalist Jobbik party is calling for urgent measures to make the financial circumstances of politicians and their families more transparent. MP György Szilágyi criticised parliament’s justice committee for its failure to put on the agenda a Jobbik proposal for lawmakers’ compulsory audits and that the asset declaration of family members who share the same household with them should be made public.
According to Szilágyi, the arguments raised against the proposal demonstrated that MPs in all other parties had things to hide and their income was not only from decent sources.
Szilágyi also called on ruling party MPs to introduce rules on compulsory attendance at least for votes held in parliament.
