Official: Hungary, Germany In Lockstep On Russian Embargo

Hungary and Germany fully agree on the matter of the embargo ordered by Russia, ministerial commissioner for measures related to the embargo on European Union farm products, Gyula Budai, said in Berlin. Both countries are interested in finding a peaceful solution as soon as possible to the Ukrainian- Russian crisis so that their exporters can return to the Russian market, he added.
Budai spoke to MTI after talks with head of the Bundestag’s farm committee Gitta Connemann and parliamentary state secretary of Germany’s farm ministry Peter Bleser.
The Russian embargo imposed on EU farm products for a year last August brought about a 30% fall in Hungarian agricultural exports to Russia and caused losses of 80 million euros to Hungary.
