Amcham “Welcomes Hungarian Govt Higher-Ed Strategy”
The American Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the government’s higher-education strategy, and their proposals set out in the guidelines conform to the government’s pursuits in higher education, the ministry of human resources said.

The ministry’s state secretariat for higher education said in a statement it had agreed with AmCham that vocational training is required to satisfy the real needs of the labour market.

Among the main related proposals is the introduction of doctoral training involved with industrial practices, promotion of work among students and related help, such as work-friendly lesson schedules and opening communication channels between colleges and businesses.

Further, industry professionals with excellent professional experience should be on the staff of universities, it said.

Also emphasised by AmCham was the importance of foreign-language study, it added.

The ministry said that the dual vocational training system being introduced in Hungary also won the support of business representatives.

The two sides agreed to continue professional cooperation in an organised framework, the statement said.
