Hungary’s US Ambassador Pays Visit To Debrecen

United States Ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell has travelled to Debrecen to visit a US company and hold talks with the local mayor. Bell first visited the local industrial park where she held talks with István Herdon, head of Xanga Group which operates the park, before going onto the plant of Texas-based National Instruments, the park’s first investor in 2001.
Here the ambassador was briefed by NI’s local managing director László Ábrahám about the company employing 1,200 people that has become a major knowledge centre in the region thanks to its R+D work.
NI and two other US firms operating in the park employ more than 2,000 people. Bell concluded her visit by holding talks with Debrecen Mayor László Papp.
