EU Insists On Congestion Fee To Be Introduced In Budapest
A congestion fee could be introduced in Budapest in the second half of 2016 following several months of trial runs. Deputy mayor Balázs Szeneczey has returned from Brussels without success following bargaining on the congestion fee.

He said every round of talks in Brussels begins with the EU negotiating partners making it clear that the clauses on the congestion fee had been requested by previous mayor Gábor Demszky’s representatives when negotiating EU subsidies for the fourth metro line.
