Another important consideration has been to hold events not only in Moscow and Saint Petersburg but also in other cities where Hungarian presence has increased.
The festival to be held in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg and Kazan will start with the opening of an exhibition presenting 19th century painter Mihály Munkácsy’s works in Moscow.
The Hungarian festival featuring 17 major and several smaller events has been organised by the foreign ministry and the Balassi Institute from 200 million forints (EUR 670,000).
