Hungarian Cultural Festival In Five Russian Cities
A Hungarian cultural festival will be held in five Russian cities between March 30 and June 30, the state secretary for cultural and science diplomacy said. István Íjgyártó told a press conference that the festival aims to present Hungary’s cultural diversity and the work of cultural institutions.

Another important consideration has been to hold events not only in Moscow and Saint Petersburg but also in other cities where Hungarian presence has increased.

The festival to be held in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg and Kazan will start with the opening of an exhibition presenting 19th century painter Mihály Munkácsy’s works in Moscow.

The Hungarian festival featuring 17 major and several smaller events has been organised by the foreign ministry and the Balassi Institute from 200 million forints (EUR 670,000).
