Brody Talk By Stephen Spinder, Bródy Studios Budapest, 23 June
- 17 Jun 2015 9:05 AM
A screening, his acclaimed book, personal anecdotes, dance and music – he will use all these to give us the essence of this 16 years.
Stephen first visited Hungary 24 years ago (1991) fell in love with the people and the culture in Transylvania, and has been photographing there ever since.
He has traveled worldwide, exhibited in Europe and America but Budapest has been home for the last 16 years. He returned to the US in 2010. His story is even more unique given the fact that he has no Hungarian roots.
Stephen's journey through Transylvania reveals his passion and search for the rich folk culture that remains despite the eastern wave of "westernism".
This passion earned him high standing with the Hungarian Cultural Ministry who generously supported his book and tours in Europe and USA.
"Ten Years In Transylvania / Tíz esztendö Erdélyben" and his first published work "Budapest Through My Lens" both gained international recognition and sold out. His Budapest portfolio revealed that he had “fallen in love with this ancient capital's turn-of-the-century charm".
