Ron Carter On Margaret Island Budapest, 26 June
- 20 Jun 2015 11:00 AM
B. B. King, Dexter Gordon, Bill Evans and Wes Montgomery are just some of the names of icons with whom he started his career as a world class jazz double-bassist. With Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter in the '60s Miles Davis Quintet, they formed such an indispensable musical value that has served as a model for all starting jazz generations ever since.
After the legendary Davis band, which also played his bass compositions, Ron Carter also played alongside the already hugely popular Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, McCoy Tyner and Horace Silver.
With the doctoral title of teacher and master, Ron Carter’s current and perhaps most exciting band christened Foursight Quartet features Donald Vega on piano, Payton Crossley on drums, and the band's exciting and unique sound with Rolando Morales-Matos on percussion.
At the Margaret Island concert, the formation will play selections primarily from the Dear Miles critically acclaimed album, which draws inspiration from the immortal trumpeter Miles Davis, and received the highest ratings and superlatives from all critical forums.
The Gala concert on June 26, for which 500 Ft. tickets can be purchased, will be organized for the first time at the Open-air Stage at Margaret on the occasion of the Drug-Free World Day with such stars and bands as Margaret Island, Gigi Radics, Boggie, Gergő Oláh, Tibor Kocsis, Gábor Biga Heincz, ByeAlex, Pankastic!, and Group’n’Swing.
The evening concert starting at 8:00 pm will feature the artists performing their own hits, as well as songs by musicians who died due to drug addiction at the peak of their careers.
