Museum+ Cultural Evening Awaits at Hungarian National Gallery on 14 May
Exhibitions, guided tours, a book launch, a craft workshop, live music and a champagne tasting await the public in the Museum+ program on May 14 at the Hungarian National Gallery, the exhibition venue told MTI.

During the evening, visitors can take exciting guided tours of the temporary exhibition entitled The Art of Life. Art Nouveau Poster Art and Object Culture in Hungary.

The exhibition, which consists of more than two hundred works of art, presents not only Art Nouveau poster art and advertising graphics, but also books, applied art objects, ceramics and furniture, and evokes the object culture of the era.

It also gives a glimpse into the urban nightlife of the turn of the century, the atmosphere of coffee houses, and introduces the world of bourgeois homes, the clothing and customs of urban women.

In addition to a guided tour by Anikó Katona, the exhibition's curator, visitors can also take part in a subjective walk titled Pop Cultural Journey by writer and journalist Adrienn Csepelyi.

Several guided tours await visitors in the permanent collection, including one about József Rippl-Rónai, who was greatly inspired by Art Nouveau art at the beginning of his career, the organisers announced.

They added that the museum's other temporary exhibition, the Habitat exhibition, will be presented by curator Zsolt Petrányi and artist Endre Koronczi, the Hungarian exhibitor at the 2026 Venice Biennale of Fine Arts.

The works on display at the exhibition will examine the relationships between man, nature and art, recalling 150 years of art history.

According to the press announcement, the new volume presenting the 19th-century masterpieces of the International Collection after 1800 will be presented in the Museum+ program, and the cabinet exhibition organized on the occasion of the release will focus on the complex relationship between artists and models through studio depictions.

Following the discussion, interested parties can explore the exhibition titled Artists and Models on a curatorial tour by aesthete Dóra Lovass.

Thanks to this year's 'contributing partner' of the event, Yettel, several unusual programs await those interested. In the 19th century collection, for example, visitors can turn marked artifacts into memes using augmented reality (AR).

Art and humor, the stand-up genre and 19th century painting meet during the guided tour by Péter Elek, a performer at the Dumaszínház.

Creative minds can also make an Art Nouveau poster at the craft workshop, and live music throughout the evening will be provided by jazz pianist Károly Gáspár.
