Corruption Cases Involving Hungarian Politicians Should Never Lapse

The radical nationalist Jobbik party has proposed an amendment to the penal code to ensure that corruption involving politicians will not lapse, the party’s spokesman said. Ádám Mirkóczki insisted that Hungary’s public life was more and more burdened with corruption; ruling Fidesz has not done anything to reverse that tendency, moreover, “it is in the forefront of graft”. The amendment, if passed into law, should be applied retroactively for the past 25 years, he said.
