Hungary’s Former PM Gyurcsány Expels Homophobe
- 6 Jul 2015 9:00 AM
Democratic Coalition president Ferenc Gyurcsány reacted swiftly on the weekend to expel a party member who expressed homophobic notions on his Facebook page. László Sütõ, a Democratic Coalition member of Baranya county council, said in part “sexuality is based on species-preserving instinct, therefore it is natural between a man and a woman. A relationship unable to father a successor cannot be a family model in a normal country . . . My tolerance extends to the point that I consider it an illness”.
Gyurcsány declared his response on Facebook, writing “this party cannot include an exclusionist member who despises his fellow human beings”.
