The operations will be headed by Hungarian officers, and will involve servicemen from Slovakia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia and the US, the ministry said in a statement. The US will contribute the largest contingent, over 500 soldiers, the document added.
The exercise is aimed at demonstrating NATO’s collective defence capabilities, as well as joint efforts by NATO and its allies to strengthen Europe’s stability. Most of the exercise will take place in the Várpalota region in western Hungary.
