A majority of Hungarians already supports Budapest’s bid to host the Olympic Summer Games in 2024, a recent survey by Nézőpont Institute showed. Fifty-three percent of respondents said they would be glad to see an Olympics in Hungary, as against 40% in August 2014 and 49% in July this year.

Fully 36% opposed the idea, down from 50% in August last year and 42% in July 2015.

The survey was conducted over the phone from November 14 to 19 with a sample of 1,000.
