Szijjártó said the world currently faces “the most brutal threat of terrorism” from the Islamic State, Al- Qaeda and Boko Haram, a situation that requires increased attention, control and immediate action.

Hungary has already fulfilled several related tasks, such as eliminating its reserves of enriched uranium and increasing the security of fissile materials. A total of 36 radiation monitoring dosimeters have been installed at Hungary’s borders.

The Hungarian Postal Service has received dosimeters which help the fight against the black market trading in fissile materials.

Hungary has set up a nuclear security department within the Academy of Sciences some time ago which coordinates, registers and monitors all nuclear materials and is involved in international data exchange, he said. The summiteers were in agreement that Hungary’s nuclear security system is excellent, Szijjártó said.
