Gourmet Festival 2016, Budapest, 12 - 15 May
- 12 May 2016 12:55 PM
Gourmet Festival is famous for its high standards and is greatly appreciated by the fans of culinary arts for bringing the best Hungarian flavors to one place from all around the country. You will not only find the best gourmet cuisine restaurants from Budapest, but also from the countryside as well as high quality wineries, pálinka distilleries, breweries, confectionaries and very impressive gastro-manufactures.
In the previous years a certain dish got into the spotlight, but this year two delightful ingredients will be in the center of attention. In 2016 alongside other fantastic eats visitors can try the best game and fish courses.
The reason is simple: the world-famous Bocuse d’Or chef competition will have its European Selection in Budapest, just before the Gourmet, where red deer and sturgeon will be the main ingredients.
On top of this, Gourmet Festival will host a farewell breakfast for the top 20 teams competing, the so called: Breakfast of Champions.
After the exclusive breakfast, both the teams and members of international press will discover the festival.
Károly Gerendai, founder of the festival, said: “It is a huge honor for Gourmet Festival to cooperate with this world famous event as it is a wonderful possibility for the representatives of the Hungarian gastronomy, as the best chefs and international press can get to know the first rank of the Hungarian cuisine”.
The audience won’t miss anything either as the chef representing Hungary and his team will cook on the stage of the festival, and there will be exclusive Bocuse d’Or dinner as well, available upon reservation.
Besides the best restaurants of Budapest and the given ingredients of game and fish, there will be much more on the table: stylish countryside restaurants (SVÉT), selected street food stands from the capital, new wave confectionaries, the best Asian flavors and very interesting talks and shows will ensure the exceptional culinary experience.
