This summer the Danube Carnival promises a unique programme highlighting Hungarian traditions and cultural heritage. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Margaret Island and the Open-Air Stage there, audiences can enjoy a dance performance celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution. This epic show stages the most important turning points of the twentieth century for Magyars, with their fights, romance, sadness and joy – all set to "dynamic, powerful" music.
Organisers say: close to 300 dancers, starring the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble and the Duna Art Ensemble, and an exciting, intense performance – the night-long piece will draw the audience’s full attention, telling the tale of a small nation, full of passion and patriotism.
On 18 June, Margaret Island Open-Air Stage awaits you with a breath-taking show, promising an unforgettable experience from 8 PM.
