Chamber Fees Unpaid By Many Hungarian Firms
- 28 Jul 2016 9:00 AM
Around 504,000 Hungarian companies have paid their annual business chamber fees so far this year, significantly less than the total of 670,000 that paid the mandatory fees in 2015, daily Magyar Idők said yesterday, according to a report by Hungarian news agency MTI.
Some of the fees were possibly booked against those that were not paid in earlier years, which could explain the discrepancy, Péter Dunai, secretary general of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), told Magyar Idők.
Hungarians have been required to register with their local chamber of commerce and pay a fee annually since 2012, MTI reported.
The deadline to pay the mandatory fee of HUF 5,000 was at the end of March, MTI noted.
