Red Bull Air Race - Matthias Dolderer Wins In Budapest
German pilot Matthias Dolderer won the truncated Budapest leg of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. The race over the Danube in central Budapest was delayed due to rain and wind; on Saturday, the entire programme was cancelled. Accordingly, the pilots were ranked according to their times in the round of 8 heat.

The opposition Dialogue for Hungary (PM) party complained that the event produces major noise and air pollution, impinging on the right of local citizens to a healthy environment. It said the Red Bull company sought out “cheap venues all over the world” to promote its energy drink.

In Budapest “they are charged 10% of the [usual] fee and have access to a world heritage site” for the race each year.
