Hungary’s “duration of working life”, which measures the number of years a person aged 15 is expected to be active, either employed or unemployed, in the labour market throughout his or her life, was under the 35.4-year European Union average, but up from 28.4 years a decade earlier. Hungarian men are expected to work 34.9 years, while women are expected to work 30 years.
