Hungary’s state secretary for higher education has signed a three-year education exchange programme with the Israeli education ministry. The programme running until 2019 will give increased focus to education on the Holocaust in Hungary, László Palkovics told MTI on Sunday.
The programme includes a training of additional Hungarian history teachers in cooperation with the Yad Vashem Institute, he said, noting that so far 500 Hungarian teachers had participated in such a training programme.
As part of the programme, Hungary has offered Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships to 50 Israeli students to complete BA, MA, doctoral and PhD studies in Hungary, primarily in technical and agricultural disciplines, as well as in cultural subjects, he said.
