Havasi Expels Journalist
Katalin Halmai, the Népszabadság correspondent in Brussels before that newspaper was shut down, was sent out from Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s press conference in Brussels on Friday by his press chief Bertalan Havasi.

“I didn’t know that Népszabadság is still published in Brussels,” Havasi declared, adding. “This room would be far too small if it allowed all blog writers in.”

Halmai, who had been invited to the press briefing, now writes a blog called Európában.

She was one of eight or nine journalists in a room with about 40 empty seats, Index writes.

After the press conference, Orbán returned and conversed with Halmai privately for 15 minutes after the press briefing.

Orbán expressed his regrets to Halmai for what happened.
