Hungary Nuclear Energy Facilities Safe In 2016

All were classed as “no safety relevance” on the international nuclear event scale. OAH’s deputy director said the office was expected to pass a decision in the first half of the year on granting permission for two new blocks planned to be added to Hungary’s sole nuclear power plant in Paks.
The OAH issued a licence to extend the third block’s lifespan by 20 years last year and a decision on a similar extension application for the fourth block is expected to be made by the end of 2017, he said.
