HUF 145mn For Iraqi Refugee Hospital
Some Ft 145 million worth of aid, the equivalent of the cost of six months worth of medicine for an Iraqi refugee hospital, will be paid by Hungary under an agreement reached by Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog and the archbishop of Erbil on Monday.

The archbishop Bashar Matti Warda visited Hungary on Monday and said “we must resolve our problems with scant resources, primarily from donations. But by last month we had run out of funds”.

The archbishopric established St. Joseph hospital, used for the treatment of people who have fled Mosul.

Balogh said the assistance provided by the Hungarian cabinet is “just a drop in the ocean” but he hopes that it sends a message that Hungarians are “aware of the suffering that those living in the Middle East – particularly Christians – are exposed to.
