Bird Flu Outbreak Lifts Hungary Poultry Imports
Hungary’s poultry imports jumped in the first half of the year because of an outbreak of bird flu, business daily Világgazdaság said, citing data from the Agriculture Research Institute (AKI). Poultry imports rose by an annual 84% to 42,000 tonnes during the period.

At the same time, poultry exports dropped by 16% to 105,000 tonnes. Hungary imported almost 11,000 tonnes of poultry from Poland and 7,000 tonnes from Germany in the first half.
