Debrecen, Győr, Veszprém Shortlisted For European Capital Of Culture 2023
The cities of Debrecen, Veszprém and Győr have been shortlisted to compete for the 2023 European Capital of Culture title, organisers said.

The decision was made by a European Commission panel of independent experts in Budapest this week. Further applicants for the competition included Eger, Gödöllő, Székesfehérvár and Szombathely.

The panel will make a recommendation for the Hungarian winner, to compete for the title with other EU cities, in late 2018. The EC appoints two cities to European capitals of culture each year.
