The Hungarian government wants to develop its cooperation with Belarus in all areas that are not affected by the EU’s sanctions against Russia, the foreign minister said in Minsk, adding that Belarus was also ready to cooperate.
Opposition party Párbeszéd is turning to the Sovereignty Protection Office over the security policy and national security issues raised by the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Hungary, and is initiating a meeting of parliament’s national security committee, the party said.
Weekly newspapers were already on the stands when tens of thousands of people attended the 15 March rally where Péter Magyar, the divorced husband of former justice minister Judit Varga announced his plan to set up a new centrist party. This week, most commentators express scepticism about his initiative.
“We cannot accept that Brussels has abandoned Europeans, moreover, turned against them,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a speech marking Hungary’s March 15 national holiday.
