More than one in three (36%) of the results achieved by our A level students were the very top grades of an A or an A*. This is 10% higher than the UK average. This trend looks set to continue next year as our Year 12 students also performed exceptionally well with 53% of all grades being A-C.
This sets them up perfectly for their full A2 exams next summer. 70% of the students received A*-C grades in subjects often ranked highly in terms of university entrance criteria (Science, Computing, Business Studies and Mathematics).
Neil McGarry, Principal of Britannica International School praised the students’ efforts:
“It is fantastic to see our senior students doing so well. We are really proud that they managed to meet and exceed their own expectations and targets''
With these outstanding results, it was no surprise to see our students gaining places at prestigious universities. London proved a popular destination, with UCL among the choices.
In year 11 (IGCSE), 46% of all grades were A*-B. Students shined with their excellent results in English as 93% of the grades were A* - C. This is again significantly above the UK average. Britannica continues to be extremely strong in English, Maths, Computing and Science whilst this year also saw some outstanding results for Humanities subjects and Languages.
Mr Greg Barker, Head of Secondary, commented, “it is immensely rewarding to see so many students getting such great results. I am impressed at the amount of work they did to achieve these results and they should be very proud of themselves”.
What really sets us apart from other schools is our nurturing and inclusive environment and every student has a chance to shine, be it academically, in the arts or on the sports pitch. Our teachers are dynamic and make learning fun and accessible, while our students are confident, caring and global thinkers.
