PM Orbán Greets Hungary’s Jewish Communities On Jewish New Year
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted the leaders of Hungary’s Jewish communities on the Jewish New Year on Sunday, the prime minister’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, told MTI.

In a letter sent to Eduárd Deblinger, president of the Autonomous Hungarian Orthodox Jewish Community, András Heisler, head of the federation of Hungarian Jewish communities (Mazsihisz), Slomó Köves, chief rabbi of the Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation (EMIH), and György Szabó, head of the Hungarian Jewish Heritage Foundation, Orbán wished the Hungarian Jewish communities “peace, prosperity and blessings in the new year.”

Orbán said he was “happy to see the largest Jewish community in central Europe living … in peace and security and even organising cultural and sporting events that draw their brethren from other parts of the world.”
