Hungarian Emergency Surgeons Suspend Threat To Resign
Emergency surgeons at Budapest’s Péterfy Hospital and Manninger Jenő Emergency Institute have desisted from carrying out their threat to resign en masse on October 1, after receiving assurances from Human Resources Minister Miklós Kásler and undersecretary Zoltán Csiki.

The doctors said the ministry leaders promised that after the municipal elections the government will rectify funding retroactively to September 1.

The surgeons trust that a draft document prepared by the Hungarian Traumatology Society and the ministry will be assessed positively by the cabinet, as promised.

The doctors stressed that they are independent of any politics in every respect and are solely concerned for high-level medical care.
