Opposition LMP Proposes To Scrap 'Discriminatory' Passages From Adoption Law Amendment
The opposition LMP is submitting a proposal to parliament on scrapping amendments to the law on adoptions which “discriminates against single parents and those living in registered partnerships,” LMP lawmaker Krisztina Hohn told an online press conference.

The amendment does not serve to provide stability for children and excludes many adults “who crave children and would be capable of giving them that stability.”

She said the regulation sent bad signals to experts who determine the eligibility of would-be parents.

Hohn, an adoptive parent herself, called on the government to mark Human Rights Day by “ending its discriminatory policies”.
