The TEK is a tactical police unit in Hungary, you may have seen them out on the street from time to time these days and wondered what they're about. 

The main TEK assignments are counter terrorism, hostage crisis, VIP protection, fighting organized crime including detection, prevention and interruption. TEK was founded on 1 September, 2010.

The rapid-response unit of the Hungarian police is to take over the task of protecting the prime minister effective May 9, Prime Minister-elect Peter Magyar said on Facebook on Monday, adding that he had already notified the director of the anti-terrorism unit TEK, which had so far fulfilled the role.
