The TEK is a tactical police unit in Hungary, you may have seen them out on the street from time to time these days and wondered what they're about. 

The main TEK assignments are counter terrorism, hostage crisis, VIP protection, fighting organized crime including detection, prevention and interruption. TEK was founded on 1 September, 2010.

Prime Minister Peter Magyar dismissed reports that crisis erupted and a "mini-coup" had taken place in the Tisza party last November. "I have full confidence in [Tisza deputy leader] Mark Radnai", he said in an interview with public radio.



Orbán Could Face Prison Over Threats to Asset Recovery Office Staff

Prime Minister Peter Magyar on Monday called on MPs to stand by investigators, prosecutors, police and tax officials and defend them from Viktor Orban. He slammed the former prime minister for a comment in a recent interview insisting that anyone who takes a job at the Asset Recovery and Protection Office, whose task it is to uncover corruption, could be called to account in the future.
