The number of guest nights spent by foreigners was up by 11.2% at 893,000 and the number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers increased by 8.3% to 854,000.

Hungarian accommodations recorded 7.1 million guest nights in the first three months of 2024, up by 14% from the same period last year, raising hopes that 2024 would become a “record year”, the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) said in a statement.
Guest nights at commercial and private tourism accommodations in Hungary rose by 24.9% to 2,757,000 in March from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said.
China will offer visa-free travel to Hungarians from March 14, and starting next month, airlines will again operate 13 weekly flights between Budapest and four major Chinese cities, Péter Szijjártó, the foreign minister, said on Facebook.
