Mercedes Plant in Hungary Closed for One Month

The company said it had modified its production plan in line with the constantly changing supply situation.
The start of the usual Christmas shutdown was brought forward to December 10 from the planned December 15.
There would have been no production on December 10 anyway, as there have been no Friday shifts since October 18, when a four-day work week was introduced.
“In the German and non-German car and motorcycle factories, the winter shutdown of 2021-22 will last for several weeks, as in previous years, although start and end dates may vary from location to location,” the company said.
It added that the Kecskemét factory will be undergoing maintenance and refurbishment work during the break.
Workers will be paid base salary and benefits during the shutdown, the company said.
