Trouble for Boss at Austrian State Media After Remark on Orbán Heart Attack
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade summoned Austria’s ambassador in Budapest over a “scandalous statement” made by one of the heads at Austrian state media, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Máté Paczolay told news agency MTI on Thursday. The remark stating that, "Orbán having a heart attack would be an honourable thing to do," has since been retracted.

Paczolay wrote that the ambassador had been summoned because one of the directors at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) apparently wished for the death of the Hungarian prime minister.

Karl Pachner, one of ORF’s managing directors, said in a since-removed Facebook post that it would be a “fair thing” if Viktor Orbán had a heart attack.

ORF has distanced itself from the post, wrote Heute magazine.
