Residential Noise Insulation Programme Announced by Budapest Airport
Budapest Airport yesterday announced the launch of a three-year, Ft 1.2 billion residential noise insulation programme in September.

The operator of the Liszt Ferenc International Airport has undertaken similar projects in the past, retrofitting insulation or replacing windows and doors in areas most affected by aircraft noise.

Budapest Airport will inform around 4,000 homeowners eligible for the programme living in Budapest’s 10th, 17th and 18th Districts, as well as in Vecsés and Üllő, company officials told a press conference with local government leaders from these municipalities.

They said insulation can reduce external noise by up to 10-12 decibels.

Replacement of windows more than 10 years old is free of charge in bedrooms and cost-shared in other rooms.

Applications can be submitted from September.
