Driving Tests in Hungary Soon Available in English for Professionals
Professional drivers can complete the basic and advanced theoretical exams for Hungarian driving licences without the use of an interpreter, using test sheets in English and Russian from September 1, the Examination Centre announced on Tuesday.

The new measure is aimed at reducing the shortage of professional drivers in Hungary.

The development project was carried out in co-operation with road transport companies.

Tests have been provided in Serbian and Ukrainian since 2020, in order to simplify the examination process.

A total of 927 foreign citizens applied to take the exams conducted by the centre last year, followed by another 670 in the first half of 2022.

Most of the participants in these tests were Serbian, Ukrainian, Russian and Turkish drivers, in many cases working with the assistance of an interpreter.
