GYSEV to Take Over Operation of 13 Railway Lines in Hungary from July
Regional railway company GYSEV will take over 752kms of railway tracks affecting 13 lines for operation from state-owned railway company MAV from July, the Construction and Transport Ministry said.

GYSEV will take over passenger transport activities gradually, over several stages, the ministry said.

It was in the ten-point pledge outlined by Construction and Transport Minister Janos Lazar in early January that GYSEV, in which the state now holds a controlling stake, will take over operation of some lines from MAV in the western part of the country, and the rolling stock thus released could be put into service in the eastern part of the country, the ministry noted.
