Pedestrians Can Reclaim Pest’s Lower Embankment at Weekends
As in previous years, the whole embankment will be open to pedestrians, cyclists, or other micro-mobility users every weekend and public holiday until October 23.

According to the announcement, the embankment will be open between Margit Bridge and Irányi Street.

"The tradition of opening the lower embankment in Pest at weekends has become a tradition since 2020, and has lasted for 102 weekends so far. This  aligns with the future vision for the area, supported by a wide range of civil and professional endorsements," the statement said.

The embankment reopening is part of the declaration signed in the fall of 2022 with 16 different organizations regarding the development of the lower embankment in Pest.

Last year, during the Rakpart'23 event series, 250 programs were organized with the support of the city by the Valyo – the City and River association - and other civil organizations.
