A protester has been fined Ft 75,000 for intentionally crossing a street too slowly at a zebra crossing in order to obstruct traffic during recent demonstrations against changes to the KATA law.
The woman denies having walked too slowly, and said she believes that the fine is meant to intimidate her.
A legal expert of the civil liberties group TASZ said the courts significantly reduce the fine in similar cases, but the procedure can take years.
According to the woman, another person got a higher, Ft 85,000 fine.
