Gellért Hotel Budapest Bought by Orbán's Son-in-Law's Company
The BDPST Group, owned by the prime minister’s son-in-law István Tiborcz, has purchased Budapest’s Gellért Hotel from the Indotek Group, the companies announced.

According to plans, the property will be transformed into a modern five-star hotel, with 139-150 rooms and suites, while preserving and restoring the historic values of the protected building.

The hotel was opened 100 years ago but it is currently closed for a year. The most recent renovation was carried out 50 years ago.

The Danubius Hotels chain sold the building to Indotek in 2019.

The architectural transformation will not affect the Gellért Bath located in the same building.
