'Menstrual Leave' Introduced by a Budapest District Council
The Second District council decided yesterday to introduce menstrual leave, mayor Gergely Őrsi announced on Facebook.

“We want to provide the possibility of working from home or a reduced working time not exceeding 48 hours per year for our employees who are suffering from chronic diseases, receiving regular treatment, or suffering from menstrual pains”, he said.

This means six days off each year or a home office option for difficult days.

District employees will also be given a day off for cancer screening as a preventive measure.

The Seventh District council previously decided to introduce menstrual leave.
