WhiskyNet Insight: "Spice Up the Festive Season with Some Delicious Rum Cocktails"
The really cold winter weather has just arrived in Hungary. These days we tend to stay inside in our warm and cosy homes.

The Holiday Season is just around the corner, but you don’t have to skip your favourite cocktails! We would like to share some nice, heart-warming rum cocktails with you to enjoy with your loved ones in this Festive Season.

Rhum Clément from Martinique

The history of Rhum Clément starts in 1887 when Homère Clément purchased the prestigious 43-hectare sugar plantation, Domaine de L'Acajou, and pioneered Rhum Agricole, a contemporary style of pure rum made directly from fresh free-run sugarcane juice. In 1923 Homère’s son, Charles Clément took over the business. It was Charles Clément who first bottled Rhum Agricole in Martinique and branded it after his father, the founder of Rhum Clément.

Rhum Clément has several different rums in its portfolio: Première Canne is unique white rum created from fresh pressed sugarcane juice. Créole Shrubb is a superb blend of the finest white and aged Rhum Agricole, married with macerated Créole spices and sun-bleached bitter orange peels and pulp. Check out an exquisite Creole Sidecar recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Clément V.S.O.P. Dark Rum

  • 30ml Clément Créole Shrubb

  • 20ml of fresh lemon juice

  • Lemon - peel, for garnish

  • Shake rum, orange liqueur and lemon juice with ice in a cocktail shaker.

  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with partially sugared rim.
