Volánbusz Strike Set for Sunday & Monday in Hungary
Employees of the inter-city bus company Volánbusz will stage a two-day strike on December 10-11, after a Budapest court ruled that the work stoppage would be legal.

According to the union, the strike is necessary because the wage improvement negotiations have stalled. The union wants a 25% wage increase by 2024, but Volánbusz did not respond to this demand by November 24.

The strike planned for Sunday and Monday promises to be significant, as the bus transport union Szaksz previously calculated that 19,830 out of 42,540 scheduled services will not operate on Monday.

Mandiner reports that fewer services will be affected by the strike on Sunday, as only 21% of the 18,000 services planned for that day, i.e. 3,760, will not operate.
