Household Solar Panel Fund Expanded in Hungary
The government has expanded the total funding available in subsidies for installing domestic solar panels by adding Ft 30 billion to the original Ft 75.8 billion, Energy Ministry state secretary Attila Steiner announced on Facebook on Monday.

More than 18,000 applications have already been approved for the programme, which exhausted the original amount, he said.

Steiner estimated that, with the increased funding, the total number of supported projects could increase from the originally planned 15,000 to more than 25,000.

The first winners of the tender call announced in January were selected in February, and the actual money transfers started in May.

To date, the average amount of support requested is Ft 4.1 million.
