'Fig Festival', Badacsony, 12 - 13 October
According to the organizers of Füge Feszt, there isn’t just one season, but many seasons, and Lake Balaton offers excitement all year round, making it worth anchoring by the shore. This autumn, for the first time, the unique Füge Feszt (Fig Fest) will be held at a special, direct lakeside location.

Although the festival is named after the delicious figs that are abundant at this time of year, it is about much more than that. Péter Vincze and his team want to showcase the region's cultural and gastronomic development while also inviting domestic establishments that share similar values. It’s almost unbelievable, but this will be the first such gastronomic festival truly organized on the shores of Lake Balaton!

The unique atmosphere of autumn at Lake Balaton, the deep breath after the harvest when the region quiets down a bit, the thousand-color Badacsony in the background with burgundy and yellow hues, the shimmering water surface beside us, an exciting wine in our glass, jazz playing on the stage...

This is what awaits us in mid-October at the Badacsony beach. And, of course, the hosts: a super team selected from all over Balaton and the country, Michelin-starred restaurants, and crowd favorites. Outstanding chefs, characters in their profession, who have taken on this gastronomic celebration after a busy summer!

"My real old dream will come true this autumn! As long as I can remember, my family’s Szigliget Harbor restaurant has always been the origin, and I imagined what it would be like to present the best of the region in a lakeside location, summarizing what I consider quality gastronomy today. In the many years spent in hospitality, I made many friends and professional contacts, so it was easy to put together the exhibitor team who, from the beginning, believed in the idea of Füge Feszt with me. In addition to gastronomy, culture, music, and education will also play a role over the weekend: we are preparing an event that will engage all the senses!" says Péter Vincze, the organizer.

Gastronomy

The two-day event targets not only guests seeking quality hospitality but also the industry, providing chefs and owners with the opportunity for informal conversations and inspiration. In addition to tasting, stage workshops, presentations, and cooking shows will be in the spotlight, naturally with fig as the main ingredient. And those who will be with us: Leading and trendsetting hospitality units and wineries from Hungary and Balaton:

IKON – Debrecen (Michelin recommendation), Bistro Sparhelt – Balatonfüred (BIB Gourmand Michelin), Veganeeta/Megfőzzük Almádit! – Balatonalmádi, Gusto 13 – Veszprém, Hableány – Badacsony, Palkonyha – Palkonya, FELIX Kitchen&Bar – Budapest (Michelin recommendation), Kisbolt Desszertműhely – Szigliget, KicsiZsó BBQ by Horváth Zsolt – Budapest, Creative Kitchen by John’s Pub – Keszthely, Rolling Chef – Veszprém, Szakállas Medve – Budapest, Szabi a Pék, Panificio il Basilico – Szentendre, Laposa Estate – Badacsony, Fata Cellar – Badacsony, Borbély Cellar – Badacsony, VáliBor – Badacsony, Dobosi Winery – Szentantalfa, Martinus Estate – Tagyon, Egly Cellar – Sümeg, Pállfy Cellar – Köveskál, Bujdosó Cellar – Balatonboglár, Mérce Prosecco/Champagne/Cocktail Bar – Szigliget

Cultural and Artistic Experiences

Nothing crowns a perfect gastronomic experience better than live music – and of course, the waves of Lake Balaton beside us. A sip of wine, a delicious bite, the sight of the sunset, and the sounds of the concert – all combine into unforgettable moments. This is aided by selected jazz and light music performers, and the Saturday peak concert: Vera Tóth, born in Tapolca, feels just as at home by Lake Balaton as she does on stage! Our performers: Vera Tóth and the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, Vagabond, P.A.R.T.

The Dreamer of the Festival

Péter Vincze, the owner and festival director of Füge Feszt, has been involved in event management and hospitality for over 15 years. During his career, he has organized and managed numerous community events and has been the main organizer of many successful musical and cultural festivals, with visitor numbers exceeding 10,000.

According to Péter, Füge Feszt 2024 is the first occasion for an event built on traditions and quality, where every little detail contributes to creating our own little world: excellent and unique food and drink offerings, live music, art, children's programs, and nature within arm's reach.
