New Crack Down on Tax Evasion in Hungary

A committee established by the government to crack down on tax evasion has held its first meeting of the year, the National Economy Ministry said in a statement.
The Committee for the Sustainable Whitening of the Economy, established in 2021, reviewed the latest forms of VAT fraud and made related recommendations.
The goal of the committee remains to reduce tax avoidance, boost transparency and support those who do their business fairly, the ministry said.
