BYD to Hire 10,000 New Employees in Hungary
BYD's new electric vehicle plant in Szeged plans to hire 10,000 employees, with 20% of positions designated for engineers, Mayor László Botka announced during the city's budget presentation.

The facility will include dedicated worker accommodation, protective green belts, and recreational areas, such as a pond for employees.

To support higher-level staff, new housing developments are also planned in Szeged.

Around 1,000 Chinese workers will arrive to construct the production halls in the coming months, initially staying in temporary accommodation.

BYD aims to begin manufacturing its first electric cars in Szeged by the end of the year. To address local labor shortages, the company plans to recruit from the Makó area, Serbia’s Vojvodina region, and among students in Szeged’s vocational and engineering programs.
