Hungary Employs Largest Number of Filipino Workers in EU Relative to Population

The Hungarian-Filipino Joint Economic Commission convened in Budapest. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, state secretary Levente Magyar said the sides had discussed matters of economy, including energy, as well as cooperation in higher education.
He added that the government offered scholarships to 30 Filipino students each year to enroll at Hungarian universities.
He said the cooperation between Hungary and the Philippines was "developing dynamically", pointing to a marked increase in Hungarian farm exports to the country, adding that the sides aimed to expand that cooperation further.
Hungary employs the largest number of Filipino guest workers relative to its population in the entire European Union, he said, praising their morale and the quality of their work in areas with severe labour shortages.
