Even though summer is coming to an end, we still can't relax. The heat has become intense again in Hungary. This extreme summer weather can cause serious health risks for all of us, especially for those who are more vulnerable. Be prepared and take preventive steps during these critical days.

What are the risks the extreme heat poses?

Extreme heat can have severe physiological effects on the body, leading to:

  • Increased risk of dehydration, as the body loses essential fluids and salts through sweat.
  • Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are not just conditions to be aware of; they are life-threatening emergencies that can occur when the body is unable to cool itself.
  • Aggravation of pre-existing health conditions, particularly affecting heart disease, due to increased cardiovascular strain.

Who are the most vulnerable?

Keeping hydrated and staying cool aren't just comforts; they're necessities, especially for our most vulnerable. Pay close attention to heat alerts and respond with care and caution.
