In a speech to local activists, Szijjarto warned that "Kyiv, Brussels, and Berlin are the axis determined to bring about regime change in Hungary."

"Why? Because Hungary, under the current government, stands in the way of their most critical goals: dragging all of Europe into war, diverting European money to Ukraine, and admitting Ukraine into the EU," he said. "This is what Brussels wants, what Berlin wants, what Kyiv wants. And they know exactly what stands in their way: Hungary’s sovereign national government."

The opposition Tisza Party, he insisted, had been "fielded in the race" for this purpose, with its leader protected by parliamentary immunity.

"No legal proceedings are under way against the Tisza Party leader in Hungary because the European Parliament has shielded him with immunity. Clearly, such a person cannot say 'no' to those who hold his fate in their hands," Szijjarto said.

"Brussels, Berlin, and Kyiv support the Tisza Party because it will not refuse their demands -- whether sending Hungarians to war, diverting Hungarian funds to Ukraine, or admitting Ukraine into the EU."

Szijjarto also highlighted Ukraine's suspension of oil deliveries to Hungary as another form of election interference.

"Of course, we have taken the necessary measures," he said, referring to Hungary and Slovakia’s request for Croatia to enable Russian oil shipments via its territory.

"The Croats are trying to portray themselves as generous helpers, but the reality is that we are not asking for favours -- we are demanding they comply with EU rules, which state that if pipeline deliveries are impossible for Hungary and Slovakia, these countries are entitled to receive Russian oil by sea."

Since the sea route passes through Croatia, "they must act in accordance with EU regulations," he added.

"We will guarantee Hungary's energy security, but it is worth noting that, as part of his anti-Hungarian policy, President Zelensky is interfering in our election by attempting to manufacture an energy supply crisis -- a clear effort, even if he cannot succeed," Szijjarto concluded.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary proposal submitted on rejecting Ukraine's EU membership

Mate Kocsis, leader of the Fidesz parliamentary group, and Peter Szijjarto, the foreign minsiter, submitted a resolution proposal to parliament on Tuesday, calling for the rejection of Ukraine's EU membership, war support, and the transformation of the European Union into a military alliance.

The proposal, published on the National Assembly's website, states that Hungary's neighbourhood is experiencing an armed conflict unprecedented since the second world war, which has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and directly threatens the security of both the region and Europe.

In this context, Europe's most urgent task should be to prevent escalation, promote a ceasefire, and facilitate meaningful peace negotiations. However, it argues that EU institutions and leaders continue to make decisions that increase the risk of escalation and draw Europe closer to war.

The submitters emphasise that Hungary opposes Ukraine's EU membership, as the country is at war and its accession would drag the EU into the conflict.

Ukraine also does not meet the criteria for EU membership, and thus, in accordance with Article 49 of the Treaty on European Union, it cannot be admitted, the resolution proposal says. The proposal calls on the government not to support the substantive launch of Ukraine’s EU accession talks or its membership.

The text declares that it is in Hungary's and Europe's interest to stay out of the war and do everything possible for peace.

Therefore, the parliament urges the government to support international peace efforts, particularly initiatives by the President of the United States, to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which severely threatens the security of Hungary and the EU; refrain from sending money or weapons to Ukraine; and take all necessary steps to prevent Hungary or the EU from being drawn into the Russia-Ukraine war.
